Guitar RepairMy guitar repair shop is in Chelsea, Michigan. I have been repairing guitars for over 30 years.
My guitar repair philosophy is to make the guitar playable. Often, just lowering the guitar's strings so that they are closer to the fingerboard allows a player or student to concentrate on playing the guitar without pain or frustration. Depending on the guitar's playability problem(s), my rates vary from $50 - $75 to $300 - $600. If the repair is on the expensive end, then you should be sure that the guitar is worth the price of the repair and I can help you with that decision. Other repair jobs I do: * guitar and bass guitar set-ups * fret leveling and refrets for guitar and bass guitar * electronic problems * minor touchups I am certified to install the Buzz Feiten Tuning System, which is a retro fit for electric guitar or electric bass. I work with Mike Koontz at Koontz Guitar Repair in Ferndale, Michigan. I met Mike in 1990 when I attended the National Guitar Summer Workshop in Connecticut where Mike taught a guitar repair class. We hit it off and have worked together since then. |
Guitar LessonsI have two basic courses. Both cover all genres of music.
The first course includes scales and chords, using easy strums and rhythms that lead the student to an understanding of music. The student will be able to create their own music, not just copy music other artists have created. The second basic course can take the student directly into reading notes. We start with a basic note reading book and I'll show how to read your melodies and help you count your rhythms. Either course will give you a better knowledge of music and guitar playing. I give lessons at my studio in Chelsea, Michigan or at your home. At my studio, I supply the amplifier and cord for electric guitars and a music stand. I have played guitar for over 40 years - in the studio laying down guitar tracks and playing live in bands. I have taught guitar at the Music Mart (now defunct) in Ann Arbor, Michigan and currently at Wonderland Music in Dearborn, Michigan as well as at my studio in Chelsea, Michigan. |
